Historic 18k yellow gold mourning ring with black enamel, inscribed with "RD Geo/Whitefield/OB 30 Sep/1770 AE 56h," commemorating the death of Reverend George Whitefield on September 30, 1770. The ring, approximately 2.5 g in weight and sized at 8-1/4, is unstamped but tests as 18k gold. It was presented to pallbearer Rev. Samuel Haven of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
