Georges L'Enfant 18k yellow gold bracelet. The bracelet comprised of woven chain in a herringbone pattern, accented with highly polished borders. The central section of the bracelet in a flatter, matte and textured gold interspersed with offset, raised, polished gold links. With finely made hidden clasp. Marked along the tongue of the clasp with France, 18k, and L'Enfant maker's mark. Identified in L'Enfant's Le Livre du Chaine as, "Tissu Polonais Presse Empire Relief, borde deux rangs, centre sept rangs, points en quinonces" (Polish fabric [a term L'Enfant used to describe a specific type of woven chain meant to mimic the patterns of traditional Polish and Milanese fabric] with an Empire relief with a border of two rows, seven center rows and staggered points)."
