Description

Platinum ring featuring one oval double cabochon sapphire weighing approximately 26.32 carats, 12 round and 46 single-cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.05 carats, and 2 triangular step-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.95 carats. The star sapphire is medium very slightly violetish blue, moderately included, with slightly visible inclusions and silk, a few crystals breaking the surface, several surface-reaching inclusions, and a weak six-legged centered star. It is translucent with good polish, though the reverse of the double cabochon has uneven polish. The triangular diamonds are graded H-I-J in color and SI in clarity, while the other diamonds are graded I-J in color and SI in clarity and are set all around the shank. There is evidence of re-sizing. The ring is accompanied by an AGL report no. 1138431 stating the sapphire is of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) origin, with no gemological evidence of heat or clarity enhancement. Gross weight: 12.4 g. Dimensions: Ring Size 5, Width: 5/8".
